linsey and I have been cast members of "The Price of Freedom" for the past 6 years.
This is an original multi-media production about WWII. Based on actual letters, the show tells the stories of four soldiers and the loved ones they left behind. Rob Gardner and McKane Davis wrote the production and have continued to give us the opportunity to perform for audiences in
As a cast we all feel a unique connection to this show that stems from the many encounters that we have with audience members after each production. On one particular occasion I met an older gentleman in full uniform who told me his brother died in the same battle that my character did in the show. I shook his hand while he thanked me for telling his brother's story. These moments with audience members have both humbled us as a cast and connected us to that generation that was asked to sacrifice so much.
In an effort to make the production more accessible to the public in general we recorded the show. Rob and McKane decided to approach PBS with the video in hopes that it could reach a wider audience. Unfortunately, with the current economy PBS does not have the funding for new works such as ours. Fortunately, our forward thinking creators took the show to a medium with an even broader audience, YouTube. Most of the show is now available for free unlimited viewing. The letters, music, photos, and video have been formatted for YouTube.
